Dry
Needling
Dry needling is a skilled intervention that uses a thin filiform needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate myofascial trigger points (painful knots), muscular and connective tissues for the management of myofascial pain. Proper dry needling of a myofascial trigger point produces an analgesic effect, reducing pain and movement impairments. Some conditions that can be treated include: low back pain, hip pain, knee pain, neck pain, headaches, tennis/golfer’s elbow, Achilles tendonitis and plantar fasciitis. Dry needling can be done as a standalone treatment or as part of a larger plan of care by one of our physical therapists.
