Carlyle Schomberg

Physical Therapist

Carlyle, a licensed Physical Therapist, received his B.S. from Duke University, where he also played baseball. He earned his Master's in Physical Therapy from Western Carolina University. Carlyle then spent several years in Birmingham, AL, where he worked in a world-renowned sports medicine clinic, treating numerous high school, collegiate, and professional athletes.  During this time, Carlyle had the opportunity to work alongside several well known orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists. The ultimate experience Carlyle gained in Birmingham was meeting his future wife Katie. Carlyle and Katie moved to Sylva, NC in 2001.

 

Clinically, Carlyle’s interest and expertise lies in the rehabilitation of shoulder and knee injuries. Carlyle has extensive experience in all shoulder rehab, including the thrower’s shoulder. He has attended numerous continuing education courses in this area. Carlyle enjoys helping patients return to their desired level of function, whether that be the playing field or the backyard.

 

Carlyle lives with his wife Katie and three sons, Sam, Zak, and Lucas in Waynesville, NC.  He enjoys watching sports, coaching his sons’ basketball and baseball teams, CrossFit, and spending time with his family at home.
